Back home

Right, another weekend behind. Getting really tired , need a weekend off from the project. But i guess i can't have as the deadline is in 5 weekends and according to my calculations it takes about 7 weekends until the cars done.

Oh well, i got a lot done this weekend. Everything else but a few places in the rear is grind and painted. I couldve done it all but i keep running out of supplies and low on dough so can't afford to buy extra. By next weekend the underbody should be ready for anti rust stuffs, though.

Garage weekend again..

Gran Turismo 5 dropped in from my mail box so I wasn't too excited to come to the garage this weekend to begin with.. However shortly after I received an SMS that my parts are done, from the powderpainter. :) So yea packed my bags and headed to highway.

So theres the 2 spindles, rear axle and stabilizer bar. Looking nice ey? (: I think the painter read my mind and didn't spend too much time on the parts, thus I got them really cheap, 40 euros..! And that includes sandblasting. To any finnish reader out there, I highly recommend; Propinta oy in Lahti, Mika is the guy's name. Can't wait to get them installed.. :)

This weekend I'm aiming to paint the brake & fuel lining and stabilizer bar brackets, grind the rest of the underbody rusts and get them in paint. If I accomplished this I could paint and seam them next weekend and shoot the antirust chems in a week or two... After that starts re-assembly, starting from linings and tank, rear axle.. :P

Also I've decided to remove the shifter assembly, make it short shifter and make new nylon bushings cos' the old ones are busted. Other reason is I can get more space for lining assy as its very tight in there..

At the garage again

This weekend im supposed to get all the rust grind and painted, but we'll see.. The compressor started bleeding some oil to the air lines, so might have to mend it tomorrow. I did get about half of them done already though. Also some washing and other boring tasks.. I wanna get on with the better stuff quickly cause is gettin really repetitive :D next week the parts ought come from the painter.. Maybe that'll boost my motivation :)

In the end I didn't make it, ran out of supplies, got the rear and wheel arcs done so its over 50% though. :)

Welding is done!

So this weekend i got the last of the welding done. Here's 2 pics of the last bit. And a picture of a filter i bought for disconnected vacuum hose.. :) also i took the axle bits to sand blast and powder coat. . Fucking brilliant! Can't wait till them done. A few weekends until re assembly can begin :)

Small update

Only ~8h garage time this weekend.. Washed the underbody and arcs again, need to wash 1 more time and then I suppose it's ready for the antirust chems. Also stripped the rear axle cos' some of them parts are going for sandblast & powdercoat next friday. :) Looking forward to it.
Also messed up the caliper bracket, it had a stud of a broken bolt in it which I failed to remove, resulting in scrapping the whole piece. Oh well, 100€ bill again, ordering a whole new caliper from the US.
