Back home

So easters done, a lil disappointed with my achievements, but still got a lot done. One or two weekends with the parts, before they can be put back in.

Got the trailing arms grinded and painted. I also did the tank, and all of the smaller parts like bolts, special washers, brackets, covers and stuff like that. Still gotta do the later horizontal links, tank strap, shifter links and the brake caliper brackets.

Speaking of which, I disassembled the new reconditioned caliper, check out the guide pins and compare them to the aftermarket parts.

("new" ones on the right)
LOL. I'm not saying they couldn't work, but its obvious that these calipers are made on a low budget, despite being the semi "reputable" Raybestos part. Other than that, the bolts were _way_ overtorqued, and there was no grease at some places there should be.. Glad I took it apart.

So that's it, next weekend is Vappu, working classes parade party or something like that in Finland and I wasn't planning on celebrating it at the garage so, unless my box from Fordprobestore.co.uk decides to show up, nothing to show for you guys in 2 weeks.

Mo pics

All right then . Easter day offs are almost behind me , once again I didn't get everything done but a lot I did. Mainly the underbody is now finished and ready for protestants. :)

here is a lot of pics from it for you :D

Pitiful pics

Cared for my daily, so it took until today I properly got started with Probe again.
Here's some pitiful pics of what I've finished, a lot of tasks under work though, should finish most before Wed evening. :)

The exhaust pipe heat shield.. :D...
The brake / fuel lining front shield.. :D..

Some bolts for the axle. Had to soak them in acid and paint them cos' the bolt lady at the shop was too lazy to even bother looking for new ones.

Note to Finnish readers, despite all the hype, I can't recommend Kilopultti Oy Suutarila. At least the lady working there has zero interest in helping me with finding new bolts everytime I go there, and her attitude in general feels like she's too busy with suicide plans to attend you anyhow.

I understand its tedious to search for bolts cos they only profit like 1 euro each but hell, you should've thought about it before you applied to work in a _bolt and nuts only_ shop! What a waste of gasoline it was, three times even.

However I heard there's sometimes some guy working there and he's proper A+.

Phew :D

Anyhow unless you're crazy for detail like me there's nothing much to see this time, sorry. :D

Happy Easter!

It's Easter time, which means a good day 6 days off. Good 6 days at the garage, then. :D I wonder if this ever stops.

However, I've started on the tank and plan to finish today. Get all the other parts ready for assembly during this 6 day period. Then next weekend I can spray the antirust chems, and after that start assembly. (I wonder how many times I've said this line in my blog already :D)

Here's a pic of the lining assembly finished;

Stay tuned for more :)

Lazy weekend

One more weekend behind. Got pretty busy with other stuff and felt pretty lazy to begin with, so nothing much happened. I've gone bankrupt :D so I won't get this car on the move until late June.. So not really a rush anymore.

However, next week is Easter and its six days off, supposed to get all the parts ready for installment then.

Didn't take pics this time, only got the piping assembly finished and cleaned in the garage so nothing awesome.

On the verge of getting better

.. but I guess it's too late already. Might still leave tomorrow though, that'd be good but not very sensible.

Apart from that, one of my packages came from the US and I went to buy the rest of the big supplies from the local Motonet, that are needed to get this baby back on it's wheels. :)  Just a few bolts to buy anymore, amen to that

The brake caliper which I had to order from RockAuto.com, cos' the ones they sell here don't have that bracket (which I fucked when I was trying to extract a cut bolt from it) and the rebuilt kits would've cost so much, I thought its more sensible this way. :) It was only a bit more _postage & tax included_ than a caliper without the bracket from Finland is. And only took 5 days to arrive, sweet.

The rest of the supplies from Motonet, which would be 2 brand new rear frontmost links, caliper guides and dust boots, thermostat and oil filter, and the hub nuts.

Now waiting for the last package then everything is ready. :) Let's hope there won't be no backfiring anymore so we can get it running soon enough.

Old things that I have to reuse are the rearmost links, trailing arms and brake discs. I don't believe trailing arms are available anymore and the other are too expensive at the moment, and relatively easy to change afterwards.

As it happens

I've got the flue. Fuckin' hell.. Believe it or not this might be the difference whether or not my car will be digesting the open road this summer. The schedules just so tight, that being there every weekend at this point is absolutely crucial.

Fingers crossed, theres still tomorrow to get better.. Can't go there half conditioned either cos' its a pretty physical task, crawling under the car so it'll only get worse.

Purchases, gulp..

Got my steel braided lines for the rear calipers already, the rest of the parts I need for assembly are in delivery. Well I need to pick some stuff at the local too but almost made the purchases... It's killing me, hopefully I'll manage now until summer and my job begins..

Nice :)

Another weeknd behind

Sipping a beer after a hardish weekend. Well the mistake (?) of going out with my friends for a "few" drinks was the hardest part. :D The hang-over of course was penaltized at garage. However I did manage to _get all of the underbody rust grind and painted_ :))) so no more of that shit ! HUZZAAH.

well if you dont count the places under the jackstands, understandably thats a no go until I get the wheels on the ground. ;S

in any case, next weekend is adding paint and prepping parts for install :) 4 weekends deadline until MOT, thankfully one of them is Easter so its 4 days long. We'll see if I get it ready on time, hope so..

No pics of the painting yet but maybe next time.. although, hell, its paint on the cars underbody.

However here's a pic of the lining brackets I soaked in fosfor acid and painted. Just cos' rather not post without pics :)
